Day 44: Diss to Wortwell

Sooooo... Not a very inspiring day initially. It was to be a shorter walk today (26 km) so of course we faffed about a bit in the morning and were a bit later leaving. Also we were both a bit lack lustre after two consecutive days over 30km. Any way we set off through Diss and past the Mere with the ducks gathering.

And mummy Duck gathering her ducklings.

Then we freed ourselves of the township and followed the Angles Way which at this point coincided with the Boudicca (or as we used to call her Boadicea) Way.

Then off into the countryside.

We passed this little fellow and he looked so lifelike that it took us a few moments to realise that he had been injured and was dead.

Spring is a time for babies in the country and this field was full of mums and their offspring... all looking very relaxed.

Unlike us! We were both feeling quite tired today and Keith had developed a huge blister on one of his feet: so was hobbling a bit... but thanks to blister pads and analgesics we made it through to Little Lakeland campsite and here he is putting the finishing touches to the tent!

All finished. Now off to the pub for a well earned drink and dinner. Goodnight campers!
