We set off through the quaint little village of Dent.
The view up the Dale was lovely as once again we headed along the Dale's Way, and followed the River.
As the path left the river we were a bit confused as the path itself seemed to turn into a stream. The water was too deep for us to wade through without it coming in over the top of our boots!
The barbed wire fence came down to the edge of the path but as intrepid walkers we were only phased for a moment and quickly discerned that we could squeeze between the fence post and the wire and we were then able to walk alongside the flooded path until we reached a dry spot! As the rain stopped the Dale was as if it had been washed clean and the light only served to make the colours even more crisp and bright.
The bluebell woods were awash with flowers,
and the sheep grazed peacefully as if they are unaware of the beauty around them,
as, too, were the ladies as they waddled along on their afternoon stroll.
We enjoyed a late lunch by this little Beck,
then, leaving the riverside we passed yet another via duct
and through pastureland to our B&B and a much needed rest!
