Day 13: Wadebridge to Port Isaac

great day's walking! The day was warm but misty as we walked over the Old Bridge (said to be built on wool) and headed out of town. We followed lanes and pathways and

and enjoyed both the pastoral landscape.....

and the villages.

At Chapel Amble we stopped at the pub for a glass of lime and soda, and a cup of coffee. We arrived right on opening time and the old guy we roused was happy to serve us as he muttered where is the girl? When we ordered our drinks he responded "the lime and soda I can manage but ooh agh I'm not too sure about making the coffee: where is the girl?" Help was found and we duly received our drinks... And very nice they were too.

Refreshed we ambled on! Lol and despite encountering more of the ubiquitous Cornish mud we had a pleasant stroll to Port Isaac: or as we prefer to think of it - Pt Wenn of Doc Martin fame. We arrived to our Hotel early and so spent an enjoyable time snapping photos of places made famous by the TV program despite the sea mist that had rolled in and gave the scene an ethereal quality.

  1. Love the pics today! So picturesque.
Here in Toronto mother nature tricked us. We had lovely springlike weather yesterday and now 15cm of fresh snow dumped on us :( We'll have to live through you both for the next little while. Hope the sun keeps shining on you!
