By day three the ravages of climbing up and down the coastal path which was muddy and degraded in part due to the recent storms; coupled with the strong headwinds with gusts around 60 mph on the first day of walking, we were feeling the effects and so decided to reduce the walking distance for day 3. Instead of walking to St Just via Lands End we decided to by-pass the lands End link and head directly to St Just if we could increase our booking at the Commercial Hotel to 2 nights. They were able to accommodate us and so we had a shorter day 3 and then day four we walked down and back to Lands End ( without our packs YIPPEEE!)
After spending g the night at the YHA in Penzance we headed out through a damp but pretty path by a stream just on from the hostel.
We left the coastal path in order to take the more direct route to St Just overland. We navigated quite well only doing a couple or rounds of the cauliflower patch .... With the daffodills planted in the next field and a view down to the sea:
We then found ourselves in a beautiful and mystical ancient site with views across the fields through ancient t trees. But we followed the lane and soon we're back on track arriving in St Just in time for lunch.
