Day 5: St Just to Pendeen

We left St Just and headed down to Cape Corwall. The day was cloudy and cool but not raining and best of all: no wind! Cape Cornwall was beautiful...

Following the coastal path we ambled along enjoying the scenery. We had planned a short day to rest our weary bones and so were in no hurry. We even had time to enjoy a chat with a couple of the locals.

And enjoy a backward glance to Cape Cornwall

The area is dotted with a multitude of old tin mines and although in times past it would have been very industrial, today the ruins are picturesque and appealing.

However we were not immune to the effects of the rain and were back at times to splashing through the mud.

The rain did not stay away and we beat a hasty path tog pendeen and lunch. Then a lazy afternoon in the pub to enjoy the music and local colour provided by a group of guys enjoying a boisterous and at times noisy game of cards.
